MODULE 7. UNFOLDING THE EMERGING FACETS OF THE SELF

MODULE 7. UNFOLDING THE EMERGING FACETS OF THE SELF

All of us are members of the society; we are obliged to contribute in our community. As a citizen, we have our duties and responsibilities as well like the elected officials. We have the power to vote the rightful people to have a position inside the government. Politics runs with power. No one can run for politics if no one has money. Some people have high positions due to their power regardless if they are qualified to be in that position. As long as a running candidate has the power and connection, he/she may win. Active citizenship is defined as the process of sharing decisions that may affect one’s life or the life of the whole community. It is also a practice of democracy.

It is an action for the voices of the citizen to be heard. Today’s youth have the advantage against the government because of the education they receive and because of the fact that they see and observe things around us; they have the power to speak and the power to make the changes for the community.   Today’s youth are considered as “future leaders” of the society. It is in their fingertips to initiate social change in our country. They have the sense of justice.

Technology has a great role in our lives today. Everything runs through technology, as if like we are living in a technological way. There are lots of things that can be done through technology. Media platforms are one of those things that the people use today to spread news and information to others. Digital citizenship is known as the proper usage of social media platforms responsibly. It is acknowledged as well as the right behavior when it comes to the digital world.
